I have been a runner since high school cross country in Red Lion. I run for enjoyment. In 2010 I focused on my endurance running. I ran my 1st 2 10 miler's, 2 half marathon's and a full marathon. I participated in the Virginia Beach half marathon, Hershey Half marathon and the Marine Corps marathon. This past year I stuck with a handful of 5k's and The Hershey Half. 13.1 miles is quickly becoming my favorite distance but I am still chasing a 2 hour finish time. My next big race will be the rock n roll half in DC this March but you'll probably see me at a few winter series races in the meantime.
Most importantly- I am a race director for a 5k in honor and memory of Jazmine Cope, a 14 year old girl who passed away after battling leukemia. She was inspirational. This year the event will be held Saturday June 2, 2012. We have great prizes for our top finishers and lots of door prizes and raffles for participants. Check out the Hope for Cope 5k run at www.hopeforcope.org for more information. |
