I was never a runner nor did I like running. One day after routinely doing aerobic exercises and losing weight I thought that maybe I would try running. Then I saw a friend's post of her entry into the Livestrong 10k in Philly and thought I would give the 5k a try. After attempting to run and not being able to push past 2.5 miles I told myself that my goal was to finish the race without walking and to not worry about pace nor time. To my surprise I not only completed my first 5k without walking but I did it in 38min. Needless did I know that I would become addicted to running and not even a year later be training for my first 1/2 marathon.
