I am temporarily "out of commission" after breaking my right hip on 11/17/2012.

I was checking over a trail I marked, riding my road bicycle on the twisty & hilly paved trail.  When speed got away from me, the brakes were not capable of stopping the bike without skidding, then I finally went over the handlebars after one last firm grip on the front brakes.

It was a relatively clean break.  It was fixed with a bolt, rod, and three screws.  I did not hit my head, and I had almost zero road rash.

I was home in time for Thanksgiving.  I am very thankful that things were not worse!

I appreciate all the well wishes and encouragement from the club.  This winter will be a lot of recovery and getting back into walking, hopefully running by spring.
