Baltimore Half Marathon and my Dad
Before the Baltimore Half Marathon I decided to send my Dad an airline ticket to come and watch me run. He is in Oklahoma and has never been up to visit me. To my surprise he was very excited to come. The first day was not so much fun because we decided to take the light rain into Baltimore to see what it would be like to go to the race the next idea. Bad idea. The light rail was packed with people, dirty, smelly and got stuck on the way. So we drove the next day to the race with no problems. At the end of the race my Dad was jumping up and down and yelling for me. I will never forget it, I still have the image in my mind. We talked a lot about running the rest of the day. But, the real story comes after the race. A few days latter my Dad calls me and tells me he went out and bought joint medicine and running shoes and has been walking and running with his wife. He is 65, 6'1" and 260 lbs. He is still running today and wants to run a 5K. It looking like I will be going to Oklahoma next year some time to run a 5K with my Dad. Go Dad!
